Second Street Pantry News
Spring 2025
Second Street Pantry is committed to our mission and know that we are making a difference in our community by providing food, diapers, personal care goods, and financial assistance to our neighbors. With a growing number of new visitors each week, this work is not possible without the generous support of our amazing local partners. We want to highlight some of those important groups below today. Please let us know if your organization, group, or business is interested in holding a special event, fundraiser, food drive or teaming up in any creative way to help our neighbors. Each and every donation directly impacts the lives of the neighbors we serve.

Community Involvement
Student Led Organization working to Mitigate Hygiene Poverty
Bentonville High School student, Bhavana Gudipati, founded the Women Rebounded Foundation. Its mission is to "create opportunities for low income women in NWA, fight hygiene poverty and to inspire, empower and initiate change." She met Second Street Pantry volunteer and Personal Care Team Lead, Belinda Burton, with her first donation of period products to the pantry. Thank you to Bhavana for your leadership and initiative in serving our community!
Business Partner update
The Good Charcoal Company has been partnering with Second Street Pantry since February of 2021. Before COVID Second Street Pantry served hot meals on Tuesday nights inside First United Methodist Church. Our regular visitors really missed this weekly event, so when The Good Charcoal Company stepped in to provide hot meals to our neighbors at a local BBQ establishment everyone was excited to say the least. They continue to provide our pantry guests with tickets for a free hot barbecue lunch once a month. This is a huge highlight that visitors greatly enjoy.
The Good Charcoal is a growing company that not only produces a high quality product, but does so while protecting the environment and giving back to communities all over the country to fight food insecurity. Enjoy your next BBQ with a bag of clean burning, sustainably harvested acacia lump charcoal from The Good Charcoal Company and know you are supporting an incredible company with a heart for doing good here in our community and around the world. Look for their products at your local Sam's Club.
Volunteer Shout Out
Grant DeVenney has been working hard to refresh and update our website. This is no easy task and he has done an amazing job on the refresh. As an all volunteer organization, Second Street Pantry relies on volunteers like Grant who are willing to give their time, skills, and expertise to help keep things running. This is an ongoing process that we are still fine tuning, but please check out the new Second Street Pantry website. Thank you Grant for your hard work on this project!
If you would like to give your time to help Second Street Pantry in some way, please reach out and we will find a place for you.
